What is ANCHORSEAL made of?
Product Description. ANCHORSEAL 2 is a hybrid of plant-based polymers and wax that protects the ends of green logs and lumber from end checking and splitting. AS2 controls the rate of moisture loss during air drying for hardwood, exotic hardwood decking and softwood.
What can I use instead of ANCHORSEAL?
A cheap and easy alternative to Anchorseal is any kind of roof coating thinned down enough with kerosene or diesel so you can more easily brush it on. Asphalt based anything will work fine.
What is the difference between ANCHORSEAL and Anchorseal 2?
Between anchorseal vs anchorseal 2, the original anchorseal is the superior one. Although it is not labeled as eco-friendly, it’s more stable and easier to use. The cost is also less for the original version. Anchorseal 2 is rather costlier as it claims to be eco-friendly.

Can fresh cut wood be sealed?
Once the ends of the logs begin to dry and crack, Paint won’t stop the damage. Commercial, wax-based sealers are the real answer. They should also be put on a fresh cut and not wait till the wood has dried. But, they will seal the end of the wood better than home remedies.
Can you stain over ANCHORSEAL?
Anchorseal can be applied over stain. Keep in mind that Anchorseal is a rather heavy, waxy product. It’s intended use is to seal the ends of saw logs before they are cut into lumber.
What are the disadvantages of PVA glue?

Can you gloss over PVA?
Yes you can. All the PVA will is bond to the paint you already have on the walls and will help the new coat of paint bond as well, Just make sure any flaking paint is taken off if any.
