Unniyarcha, who died of old age, lived in the 16th century. There have been reports claiming that Unniyarcha of Puthooram family was captured by Tipu of Mysore who attacked Malabar in 1789. This is patently wrong, because Tipu reached Malabar nearly 200 years after the death of the valiant Unniyarcha.
